The IDC MarketScape assessment is a comprehensive study that evaluates the effectiveness of various customer engagement platforms based on omni-channel adoption, general marketing functions, journey orchestration, personalization, and artificial intelligence/machine learning capabilities. For the Enterprise assessment, they focused on the needs and challenges of large enterprises (1,000+ employees) while the SMB assessment addressed the needs and challenges of organizations with fewer than 1,000 employees. IDC MarketScape follows a rigorous process of assessment that includes research such as structured discussions, surveys, and interviews with market leaders, participants, and end users. The study is intended to assist marketers when selecting the most effective platform for their needs.
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market, and business execution in the short-term.
